One Million Listeners – Thank You!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

My distributor, Tunecore, messaged me the other day with the news that more than one million people around the world have listened in to my small collection of songs. When I started putting them out there a couple of years ago I was thinking I’d be lucky to get ten thousand. There’s a tsunami of recordings hitting the ground every day (more 90,000 on Spotify alone) so what chance does any new artist have without big label backing? In an old song from The Jam “the people want what the people get” and thank God it’s no longer like that. Audiences realised many years ago that they don’t need to consume the dummed-down lyrics and immediately forgettable tunes that so much of the record industry likes to feed them. Modern technology has given them a choice. Just as they can access the truth of what’s going on in the world by going direct to the social media source, they can also by-pass establishment intermediaries and listen to the way that music should be from tens of thousands of genuinely talented artists on every continent. Like me, these people share their soul and their love with others for free. Thank you for finding me in the middle of the tsunami ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m a curious person, As I travel around, I notice how our world is changing, often in ways that worry me.
